User settings

The user settings are broken down into 4 sections:

  • Personal data
  • Display and functions
  • Training values
  • Heart rate defaults

The settings are similar to the settings that can be made on the electronic displays. There are slight differences between the CARDIO CARD and USB stick.

Personal data

The following data can be edited under personal data:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Weight
  • Height
  • Training activities
  • Resting heart rate

Your age and resulting maximum heart rate that is used for the heart rate values under Heart rate defaults is calculated from your date of birth.

The Training Activities and Resting Heart Rate fields are only available with USB sticks.

Display and functions

Defaults can be set for the training and display of training values in this section.

Gear range: this is for converting the RPM into speed. This function is only available with exercise bikes.
Maximum performance: the maximum performance defines a performance limit for the training device.
HRC starting performance: is used by the training device as the starting performance in a range of 25 - 100 watts with heart rate controlled programs. This is also used after a break.
Warm up/Cool down performance: defines the target performance in the range from 25 - 100 watts when the "Warm Up" starts and the "Cool Down" ends.
Warm up/Cool down duration: defines the duration between 60 and 240 seconds.
Energy calculation: defines whether the energy consumption (realistic) or the exercise bike's energy exchange (physical) is to be displayed.
Energy unit: for a display in kcal or kJ.
Recording time: defines at which intervals the electronic displays produce data sets when recording training.

Training values

These are default values for training. The electronic display is one of these and gives a signal once they have been reached.

  • Energy consumption
  • Training time
  • Training distance

Heart rate defaults

The heart rate control can be influenced by the heart rate defaults.

  • The Maximum heart rate (220-age) defines the calculated heart rate value from the date of birth based on the formula "200-age".
  • The Maximum heart rate can be customised.
  • Whenever the maximum heart rate is exceeded, the electronic display gives a signal using the Alarm when maximum heart rate exceeded.
  • The Target pulse monitoring provides 4 options:
    • Fat burning 65%
      65% of the maximum heart rate is monitored or regulated as a pulse value.
    • Fitness 75%
      75% of the maximum heart rate is taken as the basis.
    • Manual percentage value
      A % value between 40% and 90% of the maximum heart rate can be customised.
    • Manual heart rate default
      A pulse value between 40 and 200 can be customised.

      The target pulse selected is taken as the default for heart rate controlled programs. This value is reached in training using performance control and maintained for the duration of the training session. In the other training programs, it serves as a guideline for the pulse range of 10 beats below or above the target pulse. You should always be within this range when training.
